Next on the Pass gives emerging AUT culinary students the chance to step into some of Auckland’s most celebrated kitchens, working alongside leading chefs to create dishes that will appear on Restaurant Month menus and events. The collaborations bring fresh ideas, personal stories and new talent to the table, giving diners even more reasons to head into the city and discover something new.
Ben Bayly, Owner and Executive Chef of Ahi, says: “Kai is one of the strongest ways we connect with different cultures, communities and memories. Programmes like Next on the Pass celebrate those stories, while also creating opportunities for the next generation of chefs to learn, contribute and grow. Restaurant Month gives people the chance to experience those stories first-hand through dishes that are deeply personal and crafted with care."
