Wynyard Crossing Bridge update:

Wynyard Crossing Bridge is currently closed as it is undergoing preventative maintenance works. It is expected to re-open in late 2024. You can find more information on this here

In the meantime, there are still plenty of easy ways to access this special corner of Auckland's city centre. If you're coming from the city, you can walk or scooter around the inside of Viaduct Harbour, or you can take The City Link Bus service, which runs every 7 minutes from approx. 6am to 12am. Or, catch the new ferry! 

Hop on board the trial ferry service to cross The Viaduct for free. No need to book – simply turn up and jump on!

Ferry details:

  • Hours of operation: 10AM–5.00PM
  • Days of operation: Saturday 8 June to Sunday 9 June
  • Cost: Free of charge
  • Accessibility: The ferries are fully accessible, but no bikes or scooters are permitted on board
  • Boarding locations: Beside the Maritime Museum and beside the Viaduct Events Centre
  • Are dogs allowed on board? Yes, dogs are allowed on board the ferry. However, they must be on a leash and always kept under control.
