Whether you're coming to the city for dinner, a show, shopping, gallery hopping or whatever else takes your fancy, we have some tips to allow you to pay less for parking and have more to spend on the things that are important to you. 

Auckland Transport Parking Buildings 

Downtown car park | Customs Street West
$5.50 per hour on weekdays, daily weekday cap between 6am and 6pm is $24.
$2 per hour to a maximum of $15 during evenings (6pm-5.30am), weekends and public holidays

Civic car park | Greys Ave & Mayoral Drive
$5 per hour with maximum of $24 per day on weekdays from 6am-6pm
$12 flat fee on weekdays from 6pm until close 
$2 per hour to a maximum of $12 on weekends and public holidays 

Victoria St car park | 30 Kitchener Street (corner of Victoria & Kitchener Streets)
$5 per hour to a maximum of $24 on weekdays from 6am-6pm
$2 per hours to a maximum of $10 on evenings (from 6pm), weekends and public holidays

Fanshawe St car park | 72-100 Fanshawe Street
$5 per hour with maximum of $24 per day on weekdays
$7 per day on weekends

Jellicoe Street car park | 37-55 Madden Street, Wynyard Quarter 
First hour free Mon-Sat, $7 per hour thereafter to a maximum of 4 hours 
$3 per hour on Sundays and public holidays

On-Street Parking 
On-street parking is pay by plate. Always check the nearest pay by plate machine for parking rates and times of operation. Features of on-street parking in the central city:

  • No time limits for pay and display parking. Stay as long as you like; pay for what you need,
  • Lower prices for short stays, from $2.50 per hour. 
  • Where indicated on the machine, there's a 10-minute grace period. If you are parking for less than 10 minutes you do not need to pay.

Changes to on-street paid parking from 7 July 2024: 
Paid on-street parking seven days a week, including public holidays, is being extended from the inner city centre (Blue Zone - see the map below) to cover all other areas of the city centre zone (Green and Orange Zones - see the map below).
