Whether you're coming to the city for dinner, a show, shopping, gallery hopping or whatever else takes your fancy, we have some tips to allow you to pay less for parking and have more to spend on the things that are important to you. 

1. Auckland Transport Parking Buildings 

  • Downtown car park | Customs Street West
    Casual fees -  $4.50 per hour with maximum of $40 per day
    Off-peak rates - $2 per hour to a maximum of $10 (evenings, weekends & public holidays)
  • Civic car park | Greys Ave & Mayoral Drive
    Casual fees -  $4 per hour with maximum of $24 per day
    Evening flat rate - $12 
    Off-peak rates - $2 per hour to a maximum of $12 (weekends & public holidays)
  • Victoria St car park | 30 Kitchener Street (corner of Victoria & Kitchener Streets)
    Casual fees - $4 per hour with maximum of $24 per day
    Off-peak rates - $2 per hour to a maximum of $10 (evenings, weekends & public holidays) 
  • Fanshawe St car park | 72-100 Fanshawe Street
    Casual fees -  $4 per hour with maximum of $24 per day
     Weekend flat rate - $6 per day

2. Secure Parking's $5 weeknight and weekend fixed rates

Secure Parking NZ is offering $5 fixed rate parking spots on weeknights (from 5pm) and weekends at The Chancery Car Park on 8 Bacons Lane and The Federal Car Park on 65-71 Federal Street, using an exclusive Heart of the City discount code. 3. Britomart Valet Parking 

Britomart Valet offers a full personal parking service to all customers seven days a week. There are two Valet parking drop-off points: Britomart Car Park via the Britomart Place entrance and Central Valet on Gore Street.

4. On-Street Parking 

On-street parking is pay by plate. Always check the nearest pay by plate machine for parking rates and times of operation.

Features of on-street parking in the central city:

  • No time limits for pay and display parking. Stay as long as you like; pay for what you need,
  • Low prices for short stays. You won't pay more than $5 per hour for the first two hours,
  • Where indicated on the machine, there's a 10-minute grace period. If you are parking for less than 10 minutes you do not need to pay.
