February kicks-off Pride Month, with the Auckland Pride Festival and city centre destinations igniting the streets and stages of Tāmaki Makaurau all February long!
The 2026 Auckland Pride Festival has more than 150 events, with some even free! Tickets are listed on the Pride website along with information on how to purchase/register for any of these incredible celebrations of community.
This year’s theme, Ngā Uri E!, brings generations together to honour the bravery of our activist ancestors while spotlighting the artists, organisers, and storytellers who helped lead the movement and continue to shape it today.

Highlights
Pride at Ellen Melville Centre
This Auckland Pride Festival, Ellen Melville Centre will be hosting a wide mix of arts, culture, and community‑driven events. From Trans Politics workshop and an HIV health talk to a camp cabaret performance and a lively market - all designed to celebrate and uplift Tāmaki Makaurau’s Rainbow communities. Pride at Auckland Central Library
Auckland Central Library will also play a key role in this year’s festival, creating a space filled with storytelling, learning and creative exploration. Its programme is set to include author talks, queer literature showcases, film screenings and community discussions that highlight LGBTQIA+ voices and histories. Click here for more information.

Celebrate Pride with a day of art, music, performance and self-expression. This festival brings together rainbow artists and communities in a joyful programme honouring creativity, identity and connection.
Gus Fisher Gallery | 14 FEB - 2 MAY | Free
The exhibition brings together three artists from Aotearoa and overseas whose distinctive approach to painting depicts places both visited and imagined. Touching on ideas of Orientalism, queerness, religion and whakapapa, the pieces consider the complexities of history and nostalgia through a painterly environment that blends the physical with the imaginary.
