About Vector Lights

Vector Lights is a world-first solar, battery and peer-to-peer powered Auckland Harbour Bridge light show that demonstrates a smarter way to power our city. Vector Lights will be programmed for special events throughout the year and subtly frame the architecture of the Harbour Bridge on every other night.

To celebrate the conclusion of WWF-New Zealand’s Whale Tales 2022, Vector Lights, in partnership with Auckland Council and Waka Kotahi NZTA, will proudly light up the Auckland Harbour Bridge with an exciting and engaging light and audio story about sustainability and marine conservation. Powered by a mix of leading technology, including solar, battery and peer-to-peer systems, Vector Lights transforms the Waitematā as a guiding light toward a smart energy future. Vector Lights for City of Colour

Vector Lights is lighting up to support City of Colour, a central city wide programme of activations to drive visitation, bring vibrancy and colour to the streets. Designed by Angus Muir and Tyrone Ohia, and music by Wild Bill Ricketts, the show is an expression of the energetic nature of people in Tāmaki Makaurau through diversity and community. The show will play from 6pm until midnight, every 30 minutes.
