You can never go wrong with an outing to Viaduct institution, Soul Bar and Bistro. Enjoy a delicious 3-course menu full of love on Sunday 9th May. On the menu choose from options such as; truffle & cheese doughnuts with gruyère cheese sauce, prawn & saffron risotto, free range chicken breast with kale pesto and passionfruit curds & pistachio meringue to name just a few, And while you are there enjoy a cocktail or two from their great selection, it would be rude not to!
Onemata Restaurant, Park Hyatt, $95pp | 99 Halsey Street
Enjoy a delectable three-course lunch at Onemata Restaurant this Mother’s Day. What’s more, Mum can sit back and relax whilst taking in the beautiful views across Auckland’s stunning waterfront, sipping elegantly on a chilled glass of Billecart-Salmon Brut Reserve NV. Esther Restaurant, $99pp | 4 Viaduct Harbour Avenue
Esther is putting on a Mediterranean lunch celebration of all mums, and everyone and their mother is welcome. With three courses, this set menu delivers all the delicacies without the decision making. Start off with the puff bread, taramasalata and baked saganaki. Then move to mains – from Te Anau saffron linguine, Leigh line caught snapper and Coastal spring lamb - before the dessert. Plus enjoy a glass of complimentary Sgroppino, a perfect pour of prosecco and sorbet.
Gallery Cafe | 1 Kitchener Street inside the Auckland Art Gallery
Overlooking Albert Park, Auckland Art Gallery Cafe is a tranquil and relaxing space to take your mum for a mother's day brunch. Plus Sunday 9 May, will be the last day for you enjoy the Toi Tū Toi Ora: Contemporary Māori Art exhibition before it closes so indulge in one of the tasty meals offered there. They even have a special Toi Tū Toi Ora menu. We are big fans of their Kai Kōhua Boil-up designed by Kārena and Kasey Bird - slow-cooked hāngi pork belly with fondant kūmara in a watercress and bacon broth, served with rēwana bread. ($25)

If your mum likes rosé, then the Poni Room is the perfect place to take her. They have the pink stuff by the glass, bottle, or even straight from a beautiful fish jar. You'll definately have a good time at this rosé centric Asian-inspired eatery. Plus the food is delicious. We recommend you try their coconut laksa ($23) and their prawn & shiitake dumplings (6PC for $25).
Frida’s Margaritas | 51 Galway Street, Britomart
Positioned amidst all the happenings in Britomart, Frida’s Margaritas is a great place to have some fun and taste some adventurous margaritas with your mum. Treat her to one or two of the ten unique margaritas on offer - they are all delicious but we can’t go past the black plum and cinnamon margarita. Plus, take advantage of Frida’s being part of Mexico Britomart and share some delicious snacks and tacos.
