The Crab Shack | Princes Wharf, Shed 22
The Crab Shack is perfect for families, especially on Sunday's when kids dine free! With items like fish & chips, mac 'n' cheese, and burgers on the menu, there's no doubt you'll leave with happy full bellied kids (and adults too!). Between 12 and 6pm, up to two kids can dine free when accompanied by an adult (adult must purchase a main).
Mexico | 23 Britomart Place
Head in for a Mexican fiesta at Mexico Britomart on a Sunday and use what you would usually spend on your child's meal on an extra treat for yourself. Because on Sundays, kids eat free! From 12pm, one child per parent can get their meal for free, complete with a main, dessert and a drink - what could be better?
Coops Corner Pub | 204 Quay Street
Located right on the waters edge, Coops Corner Pub is perfect for little diners. Hand over the $15 Lil' Coops menu to the kids and let them make their pick. The best part is, every kids meal comes with an ice cream sundae - all for just $15!
Ebisu | 116-118 Quay Street
Ebisu loves families, and their special kids menu is perfect for when you're wanting to go out for a nice meal. The kids menu is complete with an activity sheet which is great for keeping the little ones entertained while waiting for their food to arrive. We think the kids will be excited by the bento boxes where they get a few pieces of cucumber sushi, edamame beans, a little bit of veggies and their choice of karaage chicken, tempura fish, or sirloin steak!
Baduzzi | 10-26 Jellicoe Street
Baduzzi is a favourite spot amongst many in the city centre. Serving up the most delicious modern Italian cuisine, it's hard to go wrong when ordering at this Wynyard Quarter gem. The kids are well catered for too. With a menu specific for those with little tummies featuring meatball pasta and chicken schnitzel dishes, we think you'll be safe from receiving any complaints. Plus, there are two tasty dessert options available too - fresh churned gelato or Italian chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.
Harbour Eats | Commercial Bay
When you find yourself with a bunch of kids that all want something different to eat, try out Harbour Eats in Commercial Bay. Whether it be hot dogs from Good Dog Bad Dog, burgers from Wise Boys, dumplings from Foo Du, pitas from Fatimas or butter chicken from Eat Indian, there's bound to be something to suit everyone's tastes. Plus, Commercial Bay has a great parents room for feeding and changing the littlies. Inside, cartoons are screening and there's a little play area to entertain the kids while you’re in there.
Grand Harbour | Corner Pakenham St & Custom St W
It's no secret that dumplings and pork buns are high up on children's favourite food lists, so why not take them to Grand Harbour for Yum Cha? Curious little humans will love looking at the crayfish in the tank and excitement will set in as trolleys wheel around the restaurant piled high with delicious dishes for you to add to your table.
Food Truck Garage | 90 Wellesley Street West
The Food Truck Garage is healthy fast food at it's finest. Burgers, tacos, wraps, salad bowls and more are on the menu with plenty of options for all dietary requirements. Whether you're vegan, vegetarian, gluten free, or dairy free, you'll easily find a dish on the menu. For dessert, we think the kids will get excited about the sundaes. Jelly tip, pineapple lump and pixie caramel are the three flavours on offer, and they are delicious!
Auckland Fish Market | 22-32 Jellicoe Street
Just like Harbour Eats in Commercial Bay, the Auckland Fish Market is great for when you've got a group who all want something different. There are 9 great eateries to choose from here; Billypot for fresh seafood; Ika Bowl for Polynesian poké bowls; Market Galley for fish & chips and burgers; Mar and Tierra for Latin delights; The Wreck for all the classics; Bang Bang Kitchen for modern Asian fusion; Lobster & Tap for Canadian lobster rolls; Oji Sushi for all the best in Japanese cuisine.
Andy's Burgers & Bar | SkyCity
Andy's Burgers and Bar is a great place to take the kids, in close proximity to new attractions Weta Workshop Unleashed and the All Blacks Experience on Federal Street, as well as the Sky Tower. There's a great kids menu with great prices - grab a burger from under $10 or a combo for $13.90.
Da Vinci's Italian Restaurant | 87 Albert Street
Da Vinci’s Italian Restaurant serves up traditional Italian dishes that embrace the richness and diversity of Italian cuisine. A great place for kids any time of the day (who doesn't love pizza and pasta?), Da Vinci's now also serve breakfast - and it's free for kids!
