Hosted by Angela Nguyen and her mother, this is an intimate, family-style dinner celebrating Vietnamese dining culture with Hue cuisine.  Hue cuisine is distinct from other Vietnamese culinary styles due to its imperial heritage, featuring refined, bite-sized "tapas-style" dishes, strong spiciness (using chilli and fermented shrimp paste) – all presented meticulously.

With dining centred on family, community and respect, this shared, family-style dinner will be "like inviting guests to our home", says Chef and Owner Angela Nguyen. Her mother Mai Le has flown from Vietnam for the event and will oversee the dinner cooking that evening. It is Mai's recipes that form the backbone of both of Angela's restaurants Vie (on Shortland St) and Che Viet. Key etiquette that includes honouring elders by serving them first and using chopsticks properly, avoiding sticking them upright in rice will be followed.
