- Greedy Guts
Quickly becoming the experts crafting sandwiches of all kinds and more to feed the hungry, Greedy Guts is all about serving up tasty food for people on the go. We can’t go past the mouthwatering ‘Morning Greed’ open sandwich, piled high with smashed mint peas, ricotta, smoked salmon and dill. But be warned, one visit to Greedy Guts and you’ll quickly be returning to try everything on the menu.

Known for feeding city folk with nutritious gluten and dairy free food that’s delicious, served up fast and easily packaged for takeaway, you’re spoilt for quality breakfast options at Misters. We recommend the egg net with balsamic glazed mushrooms or the house made granola with coconut yoghurt. Don’t forget to try one of their cold press fresh juices too, plus you can’t go past the nut butter and date smoothie.

As if we needed more reasons to love Scarecrow, wander in to see them with a hungry belly in the morning and they’ll serve you up a breakfast treat of muesli as you like it. Start with one of three options of paleo, natural or gluten free muesli, top with your choice of poached seasonal fruits and dollop on either natural or dairy free coconut yoghurt (which we highly recommend). Then pour on almond, soy, or organic milk to finish. If you’re on the go this comes packaged nicely in a little pot to take away too. All for only $9, yum.

- The Store
Pop in to the takeaway half of The Store in the early hours and be welcomed by the aromas of freshly baked breads and pastries. For breakfast you can choose from a selection of savories and pastries that are perfect to pop in a bag and eat on the go and pair it with a freshly squeezed juice or smoothie.

- Vulcan Lane Bagels
New to the dining scene, the bagels at VLB are fast making a name for themselves. Take your bagel and top it with some of their scrumptious specialties, pulled pork with apple slaw and tomato paprika, scrambled eggs and thyme, or the chipotle beef with a fresh tomato salsa and homemade hot sauce. Plus everything is under $10 and their coffee is spot on.

- Running Horse
The guys running this quaint little central city café are all about a no fuss offering that’s executed to perfection. The coffee served will instantly turn you into a regular and your breakfast cravings are quickly satisfied by their three simple choices of house made granola with lashings of yoghurt and honey comb, gin cured salmon sohmeal on a bagel or saged butter baked eggs on toast.

- Giles Luncheonette
Last but certainly not least an absolute must try is the chevre goats cheese and cherry tomato omelette at Giles Luncheonette. Using only the best free range eggs the chefs here have omelette making perfected. The beetroot bircher muesli with a shot of beetroot juice and apple with chia seeds is also worthy of mention. Serving up eats such as this it's easy to see how Giles is a central city neighbourhood local for many.
