Ostro is now closed.
Set in the waterfront Seafarers Building, this upmarket brasserie is a spot unrivalled in the central city, with a view that’s, well, amazing. The large open restaurant is lined with comfortable booths, with a massive bar area and a DJ booth, all gazing out towards Devonport across Auckland harbour.
Huge glass doors on the harbour side concertina to open the restaurant to the view, with a long balcony that seats tables of two for a truly relaxing outdoors experience.
Ostro is renowned for its locally-sourced, seasonal dishes based around classic bistro-style comfort food, created by head chef Josh Shields. A raw bar and open kitchen provides diners with plenty of entertainment if they tire of the view (though we think this is unlikely).
Make sure you head on down soon to experience that view for yourself!
