Lisa Reihana's Masterpiece in Auckland Waters for the First Time
Viaduct Harbour presents Lisa Reihana’s celebrated sculpture Te Wheke-a-Muturangi in Auckland’s waters for the first time. A renowned multi-disciplinary artist, Reihana’s work, featured at the Venice Biennale and exhibited globally, leads the Sculpture Trail with storytelling rooted in Māori cosmology. This is presented by Viaduct Harbour Holdings Ltd, with support from Auckland Council via the city centre targeted rate, and Gallery Sally Dan-Cuthbert.
Newly Commissioned Works by Leading Artists
The Sculpture Trail features newly commissioned work from leading artists including David McCracken, Anton Forde, Gregor Kregar, Oliver Stretton-Pow and Ben Pearce. With the support of Perpetual Guardian Sculpture on the Gulf, work by Lonnie Hutchinson, Seung Yul Oh and a new work by Tongan artist Sēmesi Fetokai Potauaine showcases the strength and diversity of contemporary practice in Aotearoa.
