During 4 Days of Fashion in the City, from 21 to 24 March, central Auckland will be brimming with exciting free events celebrating fashion, style and New Zealand creativity.

We have selected five free fashion events that you should experience.  

A Certain Style: Bruce Papas
19 - 31 March, New Zealand Fashion Museum

This exhibition will give you a glimpse into the life and legacy of iconic New Zealand couturier Bruce Papas. For more than forty years Bruce Papas sketched, draped and constructed elegant suits and dresses for a fashion conscious local audience. The exhibition will display his garments, embroideries and sketches, and you can learn more about his fascinating life at one of the free guided tours on offer (bookings essential).

Designer Garage Sale Market
23 and 24 March, Freyberg Place

The central city fashion super sale is back with bargains, one-offs, samples and end-of-line items all at heavily discounted prices from your favourite local and international brands. This year's market will feature Strangely Normal, Hudson, Checks, brands from Hung by Thread and more. The shopping experience will be complemented by a DJ set from Murray Cammick and live performance by Poi Poi.

The Drums of Fire
23 March, starts in Freyberg Square

This March, Auckland will host a Basque street theatre group who have dazzled the world with their fiery shows. The troupe are promising to turn the High Street district into blazing infernos with their dazzling cocktail of percussion and pyro.

Runway Show: Ingrid Starnes AW 18, Harmonies No.18
23 March, O'Connell Street

New Zealand designer Ingrid Starnes will present her AW18 collection, Harmonies No. 18 in a 20 minute runway show featuring the in-season AW18 collection, right down the middle of beautiful cobbled O'Connell St.


Live Music from Chelsea Jade and Racing
24 March, Fort Street

On Saturday 24 March, Fort Street will come to life with a live music from a couple of well-known New Zealand artists, Chelsea Jade and Racing. A great way to top off a day of fashion in the central city.
