Archived: Melbourne Cup in The City Centre

The race that stops the nation returns on 6 November and we have selected some fantastic central city spots where you can take the celebration to the next level.

Dress up, get together with your friends and enjoy some fun times with fashion, champagne, delicious food and more. If the long lunch option isn't quite right, there is a general admission entry option that allows you to watch the spectacle while having a drink or two.

The Lula Inn Melbourne Cup Afternoon
1pm, 149 Quay Street

Join The Lula Inn to celebrate Melbourne Cup Day in true Lula’s fashion with a delectable four-course menu with matching beverages, a screening of the race, a NZ debut milliner hat fashion show and more. Non-diners can also get in on the action with the general admission entry to Lula's Harbour Deck, Oasis Deck & Greenhouse areas. 

Melbourne Cup at Caravanserai
From 10am, Chancery Square

Here's a good reason to dress up, get together with friends and enjoy the excitement of the race! Caravanserai will be showing the Melbourne Cup live and as a special offer you can enjoy a bottle of Mumm Champagne and 4 Paeroa Bay oysters - for just $85. This offer is valid until the race ends.

Melbourne Cup at Rydges Auckland
1 - 5.30pm, 59 Federal Street

Enjoy stunning views of the Auckland harbour while you indulge in a special 3 course lunch accompanied by free flowing champagne and craft beer. Make sure to dress to impress with your best race day ensemble as there will be great prizes up for grabs,

Melbourne Cup - Fashion on Federal
From 1.30pm, at various Federal Street restaurants

As part of Melbourne Cup celebrations Trelise Cooper and SKYCITY are bringing the very best of fashion and food together. The event, set across five of SKYCITY’s stylish restaurants, Huami, Gusto at the Grand, MASU by Nic Watt, The Grill by Sean Connolly and The Sugar Club, will offer options for a long lunch or four course dinner, Trelise Copper runway show, and screening of the big race.

Melbourne Cup at Pilkingtons

Enjoy an afternoon of fun, frivolity and celebration at Pilkingtons, a sophisticated oasis in the heart of the city. Extra large screens will show the races, and a selection of delicious food will leave you well and satisfied.
