Round off your Festival day in style as globally celebrated actor, and firm national treasure Sam Neill joins Robyn Malcolm to share anecdotes from his rich life and career.
From his childhood in Dunedin, school days in Christchurch and working on amateur Shakespeare productions around Aotearoa New Zealand, Sam’s five-decade acting career has taken him around the globe and seen him work alongside the likes of Meryl Streep, Sean Connery, Steven Spielberg and Jane Campion and star in some of the 20th and 21st century’s biggest films, among them: My Brilliant Career, Jurassic Park and The Piano.
A natural storyteller and superb observer of people, Sam’s memoir Did I Ever Tell You This? is full of humour and insights into his life on and off screen, a life “hectically well lived” according to one critic.
Don’t miss this chance to hear from one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s proudest exports in his special visit to Auckland Writers Festival Waituhi o Tāmaki.
