The 25th annual Auckland International Buskers Festival is set to bring a world-class lineup of street performers to the city for Auckland Anniversary Weekend.
From 24 – 27 January, the Waterfront and CBD will be bursting with an exciting blend of extraordinary talent, from thrilling fire tricks, high-flying extreme pogo, hilarious clowning and breathtaking acrobatics.
Audiences of all ages will be wowed by the unbelievable talent and vibrant performers at the 2025 festival. Head down to Te Komititanga Square (Lower Queen Street), Eastern Viaduct (Viaduct Harbour) and Karanga Plaza (Wynyard Quarter) for free family summer entertainment all weekend long. With performances from 12PM daily, make sure to arrive early to claim the best viewing position.
With performers travelling from Canada, Italy, Ghana, Japan and more to wow Auckland audiences, the city is in for a treat with a riveting range of jaw-dropping acrobatic spectacles, magical performances, daring fire tricks and so much more.

Richard Arhinful, brings over 15 years of experience to the stage, performing a fusion of traditional African acrobatic dance, contortion, object manipulation, and impressive juggling that will inspire and amaze. His dynamic act celebrates creativity and cultural heritage, featuring impressive juggling and balancing with traditional African dishpans. This visually engaging and inspiring performance appeals to audiences of all ages, leaving a lasting impression.
Komatan | Sunday 26 January, 3pm | Karanga Plaza, Wynyard Quarter
We'll also be looking out for Komatan, a world-class spinning top performer, blending traditional Japanese techniques with modern tricks to create awe-inspiring shows. A specialist in the ancient Japanese art of ‘throwing tops’, Komatan has elevated the children’s game of throwing spinning tops to a performance level. Modern tricks and traditional tricks, big to small spin tops, string to spin, and spin tops to hand spin tops. Komatan will show you a show you’ve never seen BEFORE!
The Silver Starlets | Friday 24 January, 6pm | Eastern Viaduct
Full of glam, glitz and glitter, the Starlets use a 6-metre free-standing trapeze rig as their stage. They twist, tumble, bend, climb and fall, getting the audience cheering, laughing and sometimes even dancing right along with them. But don’t let their tutus fool you; The Silver Starlets captivate their audience with family-friendly charm, beautiful grace, and amazing strength. These girls don’t sweat…they sparkle!
The Fire Ninja | Saturday 25 January, 3pm | Karanga Plaza, Wynyard Quarter
Experience the thrill and excitement of this high-energy and explosive performance that will leave you breathless. Many have compared the Fire Ninja to a new age “Mortal Combat” character, and it’s easy to see why. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be amazed by the world-class skills on display, from the stunning fireball-shooting ability to the jaw-dropping fire-eating feats, all ending in a massive mushroom cloud explosion that will leave you speechless.
