5th Annual W&F Celebration

New Zealand School of Food & Wine, in the heart of the Viaduct, are marking their fifth annual celebration during American Express Restaurant Month. Join the team to learn about and experience firsthand some of the latest food trends and techniques. Taste new wine releases, transform your skills on the BBQ, and feed your soul with a selection of mouthwatering fare.

Here's what's happening on Sunday 19 August:

Guest Chef Master Class & Dinner– 19 August, 2 – 10pm
One of the most popular annual events on the NZ Food & Wine School, calendar, guests are hands on helping guest chefs to create a one-off celebration dinner. This provides a chance to learn new skills before enjoying a delicious feast you have helped create.

Join Stefan Loetscher from Hawke Bay's Oak Estate to create a one-off celebration dinner. Learn new skills, new recipes and gain confidence as you cook in our professional kitchen alongside our chefs. After your hard work in the kitchen, it’s time to enjoy a private wine tasting before sitting down for dinner to enjoy the delicious feast.

Tickets: $125 per person includes practical class with guest chef, recipe workbook, wine tasting, and Celebration Dinner

Artisan Bread Workshop – 19 August, 9.30am – 1pm
Brioche and sourdough are increasingly found on restaurant, cafe and bakery menus. Learn how to make them in this relaxed practical class. You will gain recipes and techniques to improve your home bakes.
Tickets: $95 per person (includes practical class and entry to Wine & Food Celebration)

BBQ and Chilli – 19 August, 9.30am – 1pm
Join Chef Clint Davies of Morepork BBQ in Ponsonby who will share his knowledge learnt from working in incredible kitchens in the US and now his own speciality restaurant. This practical class will teach you how to expertly grill meat on the BBQ and gain the dark art of working with chilli including using different varieties to make rubs and seasoning.
Tickets: $125 per person (includes practical class, all ingredients, recipe workbook, plus General Admission to the Wine & Food Celebration.)
