A firm favourite amongst foodies, Culprit is turning airplane food upside down for their special menu. Instead of the bland, over/undercooked offerings served while you’re struggling for legroom, Culprit will take your tastebuds on a glamourous journey. For $55, you can tuck into a dinner that includes Wapiti Venison Tatare with beetroot, horseradish, raisin & capers, Jelly Jet Planes flavoured with Elderflower & Vermouth & blackberry sherbet and succulent sharing plates. For over 20 years, Vivace has made a name for itself for its lively ambience and luscious Mediterranean fare. This Restaurant Month, they’re offering diners two hearty set-menu options which they describe as “Duck or No-Duck with Pinot Noir. Both promise to be equally decadent, with big bold flavours. Think duck terrine with onion relish & toast, charcoal ravioli with beetroot, goats’ cheese & oregano and tiramisu all paired with the perfect wine matches throughout. Since opening its doors in 2020, Ahi – headed by celebrity chef Ben Bayly has won a swag of awards– including Best Metropolitan Restaurant, Best Drinks List and two chef hats at the 2021/22 Cuisine Good Food Awards. It has a reputation for artfully plated food that celebrates the very best of New Zealand produce, tempered with relaxed, quintessentially Kiwi table service. Hugo’s Bistro | $70 for a five-course dinner
This small but perfectly formed bistro has long been renowned amongst chefs and critics alike for its reinvention of French classics that showcase prime local produce and wine. Just one bite of their food will show you why. Hugo’s Bistro received two chefs’ hats at the 2021/2022 Cuisine Good Food Awards, with the magazine noting that “each dish shouts ‘eat me’ [it’s] modern bistro done to perfection.” You’ll be able to see what all the fuss is about over a five-course dinner this Restaurant Month – duck liver and truffle parfait, ricotta gnocchi, and olive oil and sea salt semifreddo are but a few of the dishes on offer.
