The city centre boasts a great feature that brings its streets to life to mark events and celebrations that we all cherish.
In partnership with Auckland Council and Vector, the tree up-lights on Queen Street from Customs Street up to Victoria Street including Vulcan Lane bring more nighttime vibrancy to this part of the city.
The LED tree lights also link up with the Vector Lights on the Harbour Bridge and the Sky Tower lights to celebrate special occasions such as Lunar New Year, Christmas, Diwali and Breast Cancer Awareness Month a with a changing palette of colours.
Pink glow up
for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Auckland city centre turns pink this October 2025, sending a message of support and hope during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
More than 90 prominent landmarks and buildings across Aotearoa lights up in pink as part of the Global Illuminations campaign. Featured sites in the city centre include Aotea Centre, Auckland Harbour Bridge, Sky Tower, Spark Arena, The Civic, Vero Centre and the Queen Street Lights. Check out the full lighting schedule here. This stunning display helps Breast Cancer Foundation NZ to remind New Zealanders that early detection is the best way to save lives from breast cancer.
The campaign also illuminates the charity’s annual Pink Ribbon Street Appeal, taking place on Friday, 17 and Saturday, 18 October. Thousands of volunteers will be out in force shaking pink buckets to collect donations for breast cancer research, education campaigns and patient support programmes. Click here for more information.
