Silo Cinema
Ends 27 April, Silo Park
Don't miss the last four screenings of the Silo Cinema 2018 season, including Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of The Galaxy, O Brother Where Art Thou? and People's Choice on closing night. Films start at 8pm sharp but we recommend getting there earlier to secure a good scope.
Manifesto by Julian Rosefeldt
Ends 10 June, Auckland Art Gallery
This immersive film installation explores declarations from different time periods and art movements. Manifesto draws on the writings of Futurists, Dadaists, Fluxus artists, Suprematists, Situationists and other artist groups, as well as the musings of individual artists, architects, dancers and filmmakers, which are dissected and reassembled on 13 screens each measuring 4.2m wide by 2.4m high. Cate Blanchett imbues new dramatic life into these manifestos by inhabiting multiple personas, including a school teacher, factory worker, choreographer, punk, newsreader, scientist, puppeteer, widow, homeless man and more.
Dog Day Afternoon

You and your pups are invited to Silo Park for a huge celebration of our canine friends. Enjoy fun activities for both dogs and humans including 'Spot' prizes, a dog agility course, an onsite vet team from Grey Lynn Vetcare answering your puppy health questions, drinks, street food and so much more.
The First Time
Ends 14 April, Basement Theatre
The First Time is a significant and insightful piece of contemporary feminist New Zealand Theatre that tell five interconnecting stories of young Kiwi women experiencing the first hurdles of adulthood. The show puts five significant female voices that are impossible to ignore, front and centre. A not-to-miss independent theatre event of the month.
Huawei P20 Fed Street Festival

This free music festival features performances from some of New Zealand’s coolest musicians as well as delicious food and drink from the SKYCITY Federal Street dining precinct restaurants, including Depot, Federal Delicatessen, Huami and MASU.

20 - 24 April, ASB Waterfront Theatre
A four-day takeover of the ASB Waterfront Theatre by the youngest talents in town. Featuring three exciting new shows created especially for the Festival as well as new works in development, a big schmooze fest, workshops, music and more.
Body Worlds Vital

Body Worlds, the highly anticipated and internationally acclaimed original exhibition of real human bodies is finally arriving in Auckland. The New Zealand tour specifically focuses on contemporary diseases and ailments and how everyday lifestyle choices can improve health and wellness, to live with vitality.
2018 New Zealand International Comedy Festival
Starts 26 April, various locations
The New Zealand International Comedy Festival returns to Auckland with another epic line-up of local and international comedians. Get a taster of the season at the Best Foods Comedy Gala showcasing the depth and breadth of this year's talent, including 7 Days Captain Dai Henwood, Aussie favourite Heath Franklin’s Chopper, Irish comedy superstar Andrew Maxwell and spectacular musical comedy duo The Fan Brigade. Other comedy highlights in April are rising British star Fern Brady, Australian legend Carl Barron, UK comedian and self-professed scamp James Veitch and comedy powerhouse Paul Chowdhry.
Knot Touch

Using netting, rope and a range of knots, artist Jae Kang has created an installation to stimulate the imagination and invite interaction by touching and playing, providing a unique experience for all ages and abilities. Perfect for a day out with the whole family during the school holidays.
Wi Taepa: Retrospective
From 28 April, Auckland Art Gallery
Explore the legacy of iconic Māori clay artist Wi Taepa at Auckland Art Gallery. The exhibition traces Taepa’s progression from a background in carving and his grounding in matauranga Māori (Māori knowledge) through to the international residencies that have influenced his practice as an artist and arts educator.
