Auckland Live Pick & Mix is a series of weekend performances and free activities for kids showcasing the funniest, bendiest and most artistically excellent entertainers for families.
All 29 performances give audiences the opportunity to select artistic experiences from New Zealand’s top talent depending on what takes your fancy - from circus through to puppetry, performance art to opera.

Donizetti's Don Pasquale
24 June at Auckland Town Hall
This humorous adaptation of Donizetti’s Don Pasquale (sung in English) will introduce kids to the wonderful world of opera. After the performance, everyone gets a chance to learn a role and then join in for a sing-a-long.
Superhero Circus
1 July at Aotea Centre
Enjoy Super Duper Girl and The Ladderman's stupendous stunts and amazing escapes, followed by a workshop on how to perform in front of a group and how to take the silliest, funniest ideas and make them work on stage.
Whales

Whales is an award-winning interactive experience in which children work together to rescue a pod of stranded whales and send them safely home to sea.
Te Rēhia Theatre
29 July at Aotea Centre
Using drama games and activities, this fun-filled physical theatre workshop will help kids learn some basic te reo Maori and find out how the actors bring the show to life.
New Zealand Dance Company

Experience a collection of short works by some of New Zealand’s most exciting Chinese, Samoan and Pākehā choreographers, and then learn a short movement phrase from the performance.
APO Brass Ensemble

A fun, interactive look at brass and percussion instruments with Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra’s ACE Brass Ensemble, exploring how they work and how to play them.
Goldilocks and the Three Little Puaka
Black Friars will take on traditional fairy tales with a Pasifika twist, including Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood and other and then teach your little ones to improvise, create and perform their own fairytales.
Trash Puppets
