Australian-born Pie Face has come to New Zealand, with the first store now open in Shortland Street. The shop will be open 24 hours a day and will have a selection of offerings and include the signature faces Pie Face is famous for. Pies will have locally sourced ingredients, baked fresh on site every day, and several flavours have been developed for the New Zealand market. There are also novelties such as 'piezas' a hybrid between a pizza and a pie. Vegetarians and those opting for gluten-free pies won't miss out either!
So whether it is just a savoury mini pie or sausage roll you’re after or a meal – these pies have all the classic flavours. The fillings prepared in various ways include steak, mince, chicken and vegetable. The All American bagel will also be available at Pie Face, as well as pasties like danishes, croissants, and baked goodies like lamingtons, quiche or banana bread.
The sweet pies also come in a range of tempting flavours like mini pear and ricotta, or a mini sweet cherry pie for a quick and easy treat. Pie Face also caters and serves coffee, with options based on how much of a caffeine hit you need. A Quay Street outlet is expected to open in November.
Park for $2 per hour, to a maximum of $10 on evenings and weekends at the Victoria St car park. Find out more.
