Ray Barker returned from an OE in London at the height of the swinging ‘60s with a vision for a new men’s clothing company, one that fused an appreciation for classic cut and style with a modern fashion aesthetic.
Today that still defines Barkers' vision and the brand now spans the length of the country, with a commitment to quality and design. They’ve built on Ray’s foundations to become a truly iconic New Zealand menswear brand.
The High Street flagship store, is located on the same iconic Auckland retail street that housed the first store Ray Barker opened in 1972.
There's an espresso bar with coffee by the geniuses at Eighthirty – offering up some of the city’s finest brews. Turn left and head up to the Barkers Groom Room – a full service barbershop on the mezzanine level.
There will also be made-to-measure suiting, featuring a palette of regularly updated cloths and immaculate tailoring. Suffice it to say that this is no ordinary store.
Park for $2 per hour, to a maximum of $10 on evenings and weekends at the Victoria St car park. Find out more.
