The Korean War broke out on the 25th of June 1950, 70 years ago. It ended in 1953 with a ceasefire, but peace has never been declared. The Korean War is technically still "alive". This year Splice will mark the outbreak on Saturday 27 June. We will have some Korean food (and demonstrate how to make it), make Korean origami peace birds, have Korean music and dance, children's games and stories and educational videos on the Korean war. The Korean Ambassador, NZ foreign Affairs spokes-person and local MPs have also been invited to attend.
Park for $2 per hour, to a maximum of $10 on evenings and weekends at the Victoria St car park. Find out more.
