Mozart Piano Concerto No.23
Bruckner Symphony No.9
Bruckner never finished his Ninth Symphony, leaving a colossal three-movement torso. Several people have attempted to finish it but this is really rather unnecessary. Even if it is unavoidably an unconventional structure, this vast edifice is magnificently complete in its own right. The slow movement with which it ends is Bruckner’s glimpse of God and eternity.
To open, one of Mozart’s finest piano concertos. Only Mozart could write music of such profound depth under such a supremely graceful surface.
