Gallery Grooming with The Gentry

Come to the Gus Fisher Gallery any time between 1.00pm and 3.00pm on Saturday 6 April for a complimentary barber cut by the team from The Gentry while enjoying some complimentary coffee.

Their new exhibition We’re Not Too Big to Care is a response to the de-humanising nature of mass production and its impact on the individual. The exhibition title is a slogan from a 1984 television commercial by the iconic New Zealand grocery store Four Square. Open to interpretation, the phrase We’re Not Too Big to Care may be applied to an organisation or individual and questions that whatever the scale, hierarchies of power and influence are inherent at every level.

Grooming is now an expected (and expensive) part of corporate life, while also being a form of self-care and respite from the constant, cyclical nature of our capitalist world. The Gallery will ease this burden of our modern world with a complimentary barber cut in a relaxed and creative environment surrounded by compelling contemporary art!
