Remarkable scientist, environmental activist, and eloquent prosist Tim Flannery’s In Europe: A Natural History is his 100-million-year ecological account of the continent, and the forces which have shaped life on it. Hailed as ‘bold and brilliant’ by the Irish Times, it not only charts the evolutionary history of the continent but provides an acute lens through which we might better understand Europe’s present. The chief councillor of the Australian Climate Council and former Australian Humanist of the Year, discoverer of 30 mammal species (including a tree kangaroo from New Guinea), and author of several books including international bestseller The Weather Makers presents his account.
