Head to Wynyard Quarter for the very first contemporary art car boot sale, showcasing the incredible talents of women artists. This outdoor exhibition is all about making contemporary art and unique objects accessible and affordable to our local Tāmaki Makaurau communities.

Inspired by frustration around obstacles in the market and gender biases in the majority of commercial galleries and venues Chicks and their Machines is the brainchild of Debbie Tubb, a central based artist in Tāmaki Makaurau. It promises to deliver a celebration of female talent, vision, creativity and community engagement whilst creating an alternative to the traditional context of a gallery space.

Artworks are priced between $50 and $500 and visitors will see paintings, ceramics, textiles, sculptural pieces and jewellery. Something for everyone! The open air relaxed space and vibe invites art fans of all ages and backgrounds to explore and acquire pieces that resonate with them. And to have a chat with emerging and established makers.

Participating artists include: Rachel Brebner, Formantics (Susan Christie), Jo Harris, Amy MacKinnon, Ashlee O’Hagan, Screaming Jewellery (Jess Dew), Sophie Prendergast, Kathy Ready, Katie Robinson and Debbie Tubb
