Jessie Kanji is a multi-disciplinary Auckland based Indian artist. Through printmaking, Jessie depicts her experiences with the cultures of Warli, Huichol, and Latin-American people. Her art prints will be available to purchase on the day.
Join Jessie this Late Night Art for a printing workshop from 5pm - 9pm in the Ellen Melville Centre's Betty Wark Room, where you can learn the art of textile printing using the ancient craft of silk-screen printing. Feel free to bring a garment to be hand-printed on the day with Jessie - fabrics with a smooth texture are suitable. There will also be fabric available on the day to work with or turn into clothing.
