Installation piece by emerging artist Holly Schroder incorporating lighting and projection, specially commissioned by Viaduct Harbour for Artweek 2019.

Artist: Holly Schroder

Figures and faces intertwined together are a common subject in Holly's paintings and animations. The fluid lines pull the viewer into and around the image and keeps them looking; continually revealing new faces and figures. An underlying theme in her work has been the phenomena of Pareidolia; when the mind perceives a familiar pattern of something when nothing actually exists. Holly Schroder grew up on the West Coast of the South Island in Hokitika. She moved up to Auckland in 2015 and graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Auckland University of Technology in 2017. Holly practises art full time from her home studio in St Mary's Bay, Auckland. See more on https://www.schroderholly.com
