Set in the Seafarers Building this NZ brasserie is a place unrivalled in the central city. The view is, well, amazing, with huge glass doors that concertina to frame the restaurant are on the harbour side, leading out to a narrow but long balcony for an outdoor dining experience. This Restaurant Month, Ostro's special $55 three course menu offers some delicious seafood choices. Start with cauliflower & lobster soup or Yellowtail Kingfish crudo with winter citrus, baby fennel, fried shallots, and wasabi cream. For the main course the storm clam pappardelle will delight your palate. And for dessert you'll be treated to petit fours or a slice of the day.

Soul Bar & Bistro | $40 for a two course meal

Priding itself on the use of the finest, freshest local ingredients is Viaduct Harbour favourite Soul Bar & Bistro. For a winter evening treat this September, book yourself a table on their all-weather terrace for spectacular sunset views over the harbour. This month, enjoy an entree of yellowfin tuna with smoked soy, wasabi & leek oil as part of their special Restaurant Month menu. For the main, you'll have to make a decision between two seafood options, grilled tarakihi with chilli, corriander & lime or the prawn linguine in vodka sauce. If you're feeling like something sweet to finish it all off, add the espresso martini tiramisu pot to your order for just $6.


DeBretts Kitchen | $40 for a two course meal

Dining at DeBretts Kitchen is a unique experience. The relaxed setting of the restaurant is bathed in natural light provided by the soaring glass-roofed atrium, and as night falls, you'll be dining beneath the stars complemented by the delicious seafood dishes as part of their special Restaurant Month offering. Tequila ginger garlic & chilli prawns with an avocado cucumber salsa and a crispy corn tortilla is on the menu for your entree, while a pan fried market fish with parsnip puree, green beans, semi dried tomatoes, butter beans and a parsnip crisp awaits for your main course.

A hidden gem in Queens Arcade, NEO is an all day eatery with beautiful indoor and outdoor settings boasting great views overlooking Queen Street. Their drool-worthy Restaurant Month $40 menu includes a main dish of lobster and scallop gratin with line caught snapper, baby portobello and panko crust. Pair this with their Hawke's Bay chardonnay wine match recommendation and enjoy.

The Good Luck Coconut | $25 for a three course meal

Come, kick back and relax down at The Good Luck Coconut, where the tiki bar will make you some of the best cocktails this side of the Blue Lagoon. Influenced by Pacific and Asian cuisine, The Good Luck Coconut offers unique dining right on the waters edge. For only $25 enjoy a three course meal while being treated to fabulous views of the harbour. Their Restaurant Month menu includes market fish Ika Mata with coconut, lime, melon, mint as your seafood option accompanied by your choice of entree and a steamed banana pudding with rum caramel and vanilla ice cream to finish.

As a Japanese casual dining restaurant, Daikoku Victoria has a combination of traditional Japanese cuisine and modern Japanese cuisine. This Restaurant Month, Daikoku's special menu offers beautiful salmon sahsimi to start followed by teriyaki salmon, rice and miso soup to get your seafood fix. Complete the meal with their special dessert of matcha jelly and vanilla ice cream, all for just $25 for Restaurant Month this September.

With a menu entirely dedicated to premium Canadian lobster, its not hard to imagine what the team at Lobster & Tap will be serving up this Restaurant Month. For just $15, enjoy a mini lobster roll combo. Complete with 2 mini lobster rolls, one classic and one hot buttered roll and served with fries, coleslaw and a pickle. Perfect for a midday hunger blocker or a casual after work catch up.

This September, enjoy their perfect crystal prawn dumplings accompanied with soy caviar and Asian slaw for just $15.
