Fashion Profile: Gorman

Located on the corner of High St and Vulcan Ln is the vibrant, quirky and colourful clothing store, gorman. This fashion retailer is full of signature prints, distinctive colour palettes and a whole lot of fun. We recently got in touch with the manager Hannah to find out some insider styling tips and where her favourite spots in the heart of the city are.

What are your ideas on the coming season’s trends?

For gGorman’s Autumn looks, I love how the designers have added frills into classic cuts .You can find a frill on pants, dresses and tops. It is a bit of fun on a chic business look.

What is your favourite gorman piece for the coming season?

The Weeping Hearts Shirt Dress. It is an amazing monochrome print done by an ex-Gormie from Australia (Claire Johnson). The dress itself is such a classic style that is easy to wear day into night.

What are your insider styling tips that you and the gorman High Street team are currently loving?

At gorman, we are always loving the matching top and skirt or pant .It is a great alternative to wearing a dress. It always looks stylish and well put together.

What are you favourite parts of working in the heart of Auckland city?

Definitely the variety of people you have coming and going. You can go from helping someone find a new work outfit to chatting to a tourist about their New Zealand experience so far.

Where is your favourite coffee spot in the central city?

MoinMoin on Durham Ln. Jules makes the best Supreme iced coffees; she also has lots of delicious German home baking on offer.

How about your number one lunch spot in the central city?

The Good Life Juice Co. Hands down the best salads in the city.

If you are staying in the central city after work, where would you recommend for a bite to eat or after work drink?

My favourite place would have to be Amano in Britomart. There is delicious food and drinks for any time of the day as well as great decor.
