You’re never more than a minute away from a great caffeine fix in the city centre and Albert Street is no exception. Get a hyperlocal shot of espresso at Bespoke, with the house Allpress beans roasted just over the hill in Victoria Park. You can get a shot of history while you’re here too - the bluestone wall opposite Bespoke dates back to 1880. As part of the City Rail Link construction, this relic will be moved - stone by stone - one metre to the east to make room for the tunnels.
If you like a bargain without sacrificing on fair trade and organic values, Coffix is the spot for you. At just $3 for a double-shot regular cup and with no additional charges (!) for soy, decaf, extra shots and syrups, Coffix will make your wallet and your tastebuds very happy.
This city centre institution is perfect for that midday pick-me-up-in-a-cup accompanied by a satisfying bite. There’s a line every lunchtime for their classic design-your-own sandwich and salad bar, and rightfully so - the selection is fresh, tasty, varied and well-priced.
Just up past the District Court, this Tongan-owned cafe serves up the goods with super tasty house-baked fresh scones, muffins and cookies. They’re speedy too - they’ll get you your coffee in under a minute!
When we said earlier that a good coffee isn’t more than a minute away in the city centre, we probably could have said that a good Mojo coffee’s not more than a minute away - this is one of about ten in the heart of the city. This one is notable for its views out over the water and ferry terminal and for the professional crowd it attracts from the tower above.
This super cute little coffee cart is a great place to grab a well made takeaway coffee topped off with insta-worthy latte art next time you’re in the area.
Grab an espresso, a chemex coffee or a fresh juice or smoothie at this corner cafe and head outside to the tiny postage stamp of astroturf with two tables. It’s a unique and very urban vantage point from which to sit back and watch city life go by!
