As the City Rail Link project launches into the next phase of building Aotea Station, the intersection of Wellesley Street, Albert Street, and Mayoral Drive will be closed from Sunday 1 March 2020, until early 2021.

As a result, some bus route changes will come into affect from Sunday February 23, a week before the street's closure. Most new routes will include using Victoria Street and Mayoral Drive, which means most passengers will only be one block away from their old stop. New 24/7 bus lanes are being installed as well as priority signalling at traffic lights to ensure these buses are given priority.

The new routes for the 26 bus services currently using Wellesley Street will stay in place until the intersection reopens nest year.

The new routes have been loaded into the Journey Planner and AT Mobile App.
