Shannon Novak, in collaboration with David Hayes has created a new artwork, commissioned by Auckland Council, with the theme of ‘happiness’ for Te Ara I Whiti – The Lightpath, Art Week 4-13 October.

Random Acts aims to highlight the benefits of connection and kindness to help grow positive mental health outcomes.

As someone moves across the Lightpath, the lights change from magenta to a colourful display in response to their movement and as people cross paths, the colours intensify expressing positivity as people connect.

Additionally, Novak has produced a limited edition of badges from details of Random Acts which will be given away to people on the Lightpath and within the CBD during Art Week’s Late Night Art.

In addition, Mojo, Auckland CBD were inspired by Shannon Novak’s Random Acts to do some of their own random acts of kindness.  A number of customers will be given a voucher to then give away to another as a random act of kindness between 4 – 13 October 2024.

Experience Random Acts when you travel into or out of the city during 4-13 October and The Art of Giving on Late Night Art, Thursday 10th October, 5-9pm.
