Part of Christmas in the City Centre
More detailsThere are just a few days to go before Christmas! Whether you're already feeling festive or looking for ways to turn up the festive spirit, these five things should be at the top of your list!
1. Catch a festive performance
Right up until Christmas Eve, pop-up performers are taking over Te Komititanga (the public square at the bottom of Queen Street), Sky City and Queen Street! Head to Te Komititanga Wednesday to Saturday, and Queen Street and SkyCity on Saturday for the last of this year's performances, featuring tinsel monsters, roller skaters, stilt walkers, dancers and more!
- Christmas in Te Komititanga: Wednesday - Thursday, 12pm - 2pm & Friday - Saturday, 12pm - 2pm & 4pm - 6pm (more info)
- SkyCity's Christmas Show: Saturday 5pm - 7pm (more info)
- Christmas Saturdays on Queen Street: Saturday 11:30am - 1pm (more info)
2. Treat yourself to something yummy!
Nothing is more joyous than a delicious festive dessert. We think one (or four) of The Pantry's treats need to be on your must-try list. Order a box of four Petit Gateaux treats to celebrate the season with.

3. Get tickets to Basement Theatre's Christmas show!
Kick off the silly season with a night of hilarious improv at Sleigh, featuring Brynley Stent, Alice Canton, Rhiannon McCall and more! Get more show details, here.
4. Cheers to the end of the year
Whether you're feeling like summery cocktails and tapas by the waterfront or champagne and luxurious surroundings, there's somewhere for you and your loved ones in the city centre this festive season. Make the most of the sunshine we're being treated to and head to a rooftop for outdoor drinks. There's plenty of new ones to choose from too, like Bar Albert, at 38 floors up, it's now the highest rooftop bar in NZ!
5. Head to Silo Cinema
It's not Christmas until you watch a festive flick! Silo Cinema is back for the summer and they're kicking things off with a free screening of the 90s classic, Home Alone this Friday (Dec 23). Head down from 5pm for drinks and kai from one of the tasty food trucks, enjoy a sunset on the waterfront and settle in for the film kicking off at 9pm.
Food truck line-up:
The Rolling Pin; Captain Crêpes; Manila Eats NZ; Lulu’s Ice cream; Lucky Thai; Karaageboy; Egg And Spoon. Plus drinks from the Silo Park Bar & popcorn stand with proceeds going to Auckland City Mission.
