Henry VIII’s predilection for wives is legendary, with a final tally that included Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard, and Catherine Parr. Their fates, for the most part, involved divorce and beheading. Now Auckland-based, English-born author Sue Copsey, writing under the pseudonym Olivia Hayfield, has scored a two-book international publishing deal, the first being the contemporary Wife After Wife, billed as a “blockbuster romance” and “a rollicking retelling of the story of England’s favourite ginger tyrant”. She presents a talk on the unfortunate female sextet.
