Formerly known as Johnny Barr’s American Restaurant Bar & Grill, Wynyard Grill is a steakhouse and wine lounge located in Wynyard Quarter, adjacent to the Viaduct Harbour.
Wynyard Grill retain some of the traditional and popular Johnny Barr’s dishes such as their well-received macaroni and cheese varieties and introduce some new signature dishes.
By day the restaurant will offer a range of burgers including the delectable K-Town – with kimchi and peanut butter made in-house with 100% beef patty, the Truffle Swiss Melt and six other deliciously mouth-watering varieties.
The evenings will see the addition of a 28-day aged bone-in ribeye, an extensive selection of the best hand-picked steak varieties that New Zealand has to offer and a plethora of wild game meats such as rabbit and shiitake meatballs, pheasant, wild boar and wapiti (a cross breed of red deer and elk only found in New Zealand).
Featuring a perfectly crafted wine list, showcasing a range of global regions, vineyards and price points selected by a panel of experts, paired with nine of the finest cheeses from France, Italy and New Zealand.
To keep thing interesting there will be a number of weekly events and specials such as a featured local winemaker evening, live jazz music with classic movies, a gourmet grilled cheese night and a traditional Sunday roast.
