Scratch Bakers provides delicious baked goods in a venue that's in keeping with the industrial themes of the City Works Depot. Their kitchen operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week, churning out old classics like blueberry and lemon scones as well as their famous pieswith fillings like rabbit, goat or duck. 

With a lovely light space and seating to match; it is the perfect place to perch at a bench or picnic table and savour a sweet or savoury treat.

You won’t find custard square around here. This isn’t your typical corner bakery. With artisan pastry and specialty cured meat as well as spiced fish sandwiches; the items on the menu have flavours from afar as well as familiar ones like pear frangipani tart.

Real fruit like rhubarb, pomegranate and pear top the cakes and the biscotti is made from nuts and dried figs. And you can get coffee on the run or a fruit juice blended on site or Aroha bottled juices. Try one of their freshly baked items before they sell out!
