TEDxAuckland returns to Auckland’s iconic waterfront venue, Shed 10, for their 2018 event: Off-Piste.
A popular skiing term, off-piste is about taking risks, abandoning inhibitions, and venturing into uncharted or controversial territory. Prepare for a day of non-stop inspiration, innovation, and connection.
Come 13 October, local and international game-changers will come together to present their unique ideas to an audience just as interesting as the line-up on stage. The talks will feature everything from sustainable enterprises and life-saving medical developments, to mental health initiatives and everything in between.
This year’s event brings together medical humanitarians, blockchain innovators, social activists, deep tech enthusiasts, and language revivalists on one stage, in a show that will be like no other.
Like previous years, the event also looks to highlight the innovative local food and drink companies coming out of Auckland. With healthy start ups, organic produce, and social enterprises, the 2018 event will emphasise how food can be the perfect mechanism to help to change the world through an idea.
Storytelling and community are at the heart of TEDxAuckland’s purpose, so there will be ample time to connect with other audience members, forming networks that reach far beyond the event itself.
Engage with people from across the country, take part in thought-provoking activations, and share your own story - in essence, use TEDxAuckland as a day to push yourself and what you think you’re capable of.
