Buskers, poets and streeties from Auckland City Centre streets will be performing live as part of 'Late Night Art' outside the Auckland Central City Library.
The city centre community builders at Splice have captured wisdom from the streets in their Street Wisdom project. There are many people in our city centre who have experiences of living in Auckland city (whether being in apartments and other dwellings, to living on the street or in temporary situations) and have important perspectives to share about the current state of the city and what could be done to improve its sense of community. Many of these people don't currently have a voice due to social isolation or mental health issues – but they do have important stories to tell and perspectives to offer.
Here some of this Street Wisdom live from the source during Late Night Art.
You can also visit the 'stuck in the maze // from housed to homeless' activation installed inside the library, by Margaret Lewis in collaboration with Awhina Mai Tatou Katoa and Radio NFA.
Funded by Auckland Council and delivered in partnership with Auckland Central Library and Artweek Auckland.
