Run for the Oceans with adidas 2019 Event

On Tuesday 11th June adidas will be doing our bit to fight marine plastic pollution as we run for the oceans. They are teaming up with Sustainable Coastlines - an Auckland based charity that enables people to look after the coastlines and waterways, through education, coastal clean-ups and public awareness campaigns.

They’ll be doing a special 5km loop only, alongside our oceans and finishing off at the Sustainable Coastlines Flagship in Wynyard Quarter. Post run, Hello Mister Moroccan bowls will be served to rejuvenate. adidas ambassadors Portia Woodman, Sam Whitelock and Jack Goodhue will also be down at the finish line.

Note: Your belongings will be transported to the finish so please place them in the usual bins provided and organise your transport ahead of time.

On top of Run for the Oceans, adidas is introducing Alphabounce+ Parley and a full range of new sports apparel, ambitiously driving towards its 2024 goal of eliminating the use of virgin polyester from all products. The introduction of the 2019 Parley apparel range will see the them produce a landmark 11 million pairs of shoes using upcycled marine plastic waste.

For every km we run, $1 will be donated to the Parley Ocean School initiative, which educates the next generation on how to protect our oceans.

Enjoy two hours of free parking or $5 evening and weekend rates. Find out more. Ride on public transport from as little as $2 each way. Find out more.
