For one night only, renowned chefs Giulio Sturla of the coveted MAPU and Tom Hishon of kingi will come together to host a very special degustation experience, served in the sumptuous surrounds of The Libraries at The Hotel Britomart.

With just 16 seats at sharing tables, it will be an intimate evening, created for those who truly appreciate great food and wine. Over five delicious courses, chefs Giulio and Tom will showcase unique flavours and techniques using in-season and locally sourced produce.

Originally from Chile, Giulio has lived in New Zealand for 13 years. He quickly established himself as one of the most relevant and influential chefs in the restaurant industry, founding and leading Roots, an acclaimed restaurant in Lyttelton. There he focused on experimentation while researching, foraging and integrating local produce. Open for over six years, Roots achieved many accolades and media features, including being the only three-hatted restaurant outside the Auckland CBD. In 2018, Giulio was named Chef of the Year. His current venue, MAPU, is an intimate experimental kitchen for small group dining experiences.

The setting for this event will be no less spectacular than the food: diners will start the evening with a welcome drink and delicious snacks in the relaxed comfort of The Lounge before moving to the interactive Chef’s Library and loft-like Wine Library for the mains, and returning to The Lounge for petit fours and digestifs if diners wish.

This unique collaboration between Giulio and Tom combined with the opportunity to journey through the different spaces of The Libraries promises a truly spectacular experience.
