Ports of Auckland’s SeePort Festival is a three-day celebration of Auckland City’s beautiful waterfront and rich maritime heritage. The family-friendly festival is one of New Zealand’s largest free events, returning in 2020 for its seventh year of seaside fun.
We invite you behind the red fence over Auckland Anniversary weekend to check out the port from land, sky or sea as Captain Cook Wharf is transformed into a bustling summer festival. Carnival rides, boat sailings, helicopter rides, delicious food, virtual-reality experiences, simulators, port tours, music and entertainment on and off the water – little and big kids will be spoilt for choice!
The largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, SeePort is unlike any other; lap up the opportunity to watch dancing tugboats, explore robotic machinery and uncover the inner-workings of some magnificent vessels including the HMNZS WELLINGTON and the William C Daldy (one of the oldest operating steam tugs of it's kind in the world!).
With so much happening on the water, don’t forget to look up – helicopters will take to the skies overhead in impressive demonstrations and displays.
As the sun sets on day two (Jan 26), the stage plays host to the renowned Auckland Symphony Orchestra who will also be joined by White Chapel Jak. Stick around until the end (10pm) for a spectacular fireworks finale!
Sun and sea are the perfect mix for a long weekend, and best of all it's mostly free! Check out seeport.co.nz to see what’s on. #SeePortAKL
