Join WWF New Zealand for an informative event: 'Our Moana, Our Future' – a gathering that brings together politicians, tangata whenua, as well as experts from the realms of science, fisheries, conservation, and business, moderated by senior journalist Andrea Vance.
Aotearoa’s vast ocean, a top 10 global expanse at 4,083,000 sq km, is economically crucial, yielding $7.4 billion from marine industries. Despite this, under 0.5% is conserved, jeopardizing numerous species, including seabirds, invertebrates, shorebirds, and marine mammals, while essential areas like Tīkapa Moana / the Hauraki Gulf suffer a decline.
This event, hosted by WWF New Zealand, will be an opportunity for our political leaders to outline where they stand on WWF’s '10 Asks' for our ocean, working towards a marine environment that is sustainable, resilient, and healthy.
