The New Zealand National Poetry Slam has returned to Tāmaki Makaurau. Established in 2011, this independent community event is run by a committee of poets from across Aotearoa. Poets from around the country will battle it out for the title of 2023 National Champion!
Thirteen poets representing Wellington, Christchurch, Hawkes Bay, Tauranga, Hamilton, Nelson/Golden Bay, Dunedin, & Auckland will take the stage for one night of competition this year.
More than just a slam, the NZNPS 2023 will feature a programme of events to complement the main event. With generous support from Creative Communities Auckland, Cross-Polynate Ltd, and Action Education.
It's all ages, uncensored but hate speech free. Who will be crowned the 2023 Champion? Judges chosen from the audience will decide!
