Chefs Patrick Ikinofo, and Kia Kanuta come together for a five course dinner at The Grill inspired by the celestial stars of Matariki.
Be welcomed by an above ground hāngī in the courtyard, followed by kōrero and storytelling through a sensory journey that honours each of the nine stars of Matariki.
Partnering with Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, each course is rooted in the whenua, gardens, rivers, forests, and oceans of Aotearoa, incorporating a selection of kai from Pourewa Māra and ethically sourced kaimoana, that feature across the menu. Paired with a wine match from Cloudy Bay, this event celebrates the connection to our land and the shared offering to the rising of Matariki.
At 7pm sharp, the hāngī will be lifted by celebrated chefs Patrick Ikinofo and Kia Kanuta, marking a powerful moment of connection to Te Ao Māori. This unique event pays homage to our tūpuna through the ancient practice of Hāngī - elevated, refined, and delivered with aroha.
$2.50 per hour to a max of $12.50 on weekends and a $12.50 flat rate for weekday evenings at The Civic car park. Find out more.
