Do you know the last names of your great-grandmothers? How far can you whakapapa back? Who are the life givers who mothered us and who are the world builders we will become?
Witness a world building night of poetry that unpacks womanhood through exploring who we come from, who we are now, and who will come after us.
The God Mothers are internationally acclaimed performance poets Carrie Rudzinski, Jessie Fenton, Marina Alefosio, and Stevie Davis-Tana. This performance weaves together four powerhouse voices in talanoa with each other as they celebrate and challenge what it means to be a woman.
“Our voices are a choir of survival, a lighthouse in the darkness, taking back the night.”
