ALL WALKS ARE NOW SOLD OUT

Auckland’s city centre is transforming into a kaleidoscope of colour this May! The heart of the city and Karangahape Road will be awash with art, colour and light for three weeks during May as the city centre becomes the canvas for a trail of over 50 installations and artworks in laneways, squares, streets, trees, and even hanging overhead. Come in to explore colourful art by day and magical light by night, and celebrate the return of life and energy to the central city after a long period of COVID-induced social distancing.

Starting at dusk, Auckland Walks guides will lead free tours, supported by Auckland Council and the city centre targeted rate, around the streets and laneways, during which you will be presented with some shining examples of human imagination and endeavour that, literally, cast the old city in a new light.

The walks:

  • City Centre Walk: 5pm - 7pm, May 6, 11, 13, 14 & 20
Starts at Atrium, Takutai Square, Gore Street, Auckland CBD, and ends at Aotea Square, Queen Street, Auckland
  • Karangahape Road Walk: 5pm - 7pm, May 6, 13 & 20
