Archived: A Very Tasty Christmas Market

Mark your calendars for A Very Tasty Christmas Market, taking place at The Cloud on Queens Wharf from 30 November -1 December. This is set to be one of the city's largest festive market events ready to impress thousands of shoppers for its second year! 

Much like the name suggests, this festive occasion promises a delightful day out, combining an array of artisanal gift stalls, delectable gourmet treats and pop-up eateries and bars plus entertainment to captivate visitors of all ages. With family activities and Christmas themed stage performances the day is set to be delicious and fun-filled. 

Event Highlights 

The Giltrap Audi Chocolate Factory brought to you by Honest Chocolat:
Watch the chocolate-making process come to life with live demonstrations from Michelin-star restaurant chef Nico Bonnaud, who will showcase his craft throughout the weekend. As a special exclusive treat, a limited-edition Giltrap Audi chocolate will be created and available to Audi Fans for purchase.

Cookbook Author Q&As and Book Signings:
Food lovers and aspiring chefs will be thrilled to meet some incredible cookbook authors, including:
Mark Gregory author of Christmas at the Castle, Ashia Ismail-Singer author of The Laden Table, Tony Astle and Geraldine Johns, authors of Let Them Eat Tripe. In addition, Rachel Clare, author of Play Wild will be hosting a hands-on kids’ crafting workshop. Authors will share insights, offer tastings of their recipes, and sign books.

Live Entertainment & Family Activities:
This year’s entertainment lineup promises fun for all ages. Expect live music from talented solo performers and the energetic brass band Superhero Second Line, Christmas performances featuring clowns, fairies, and elves for the kids, a Santa Meet & Greet with photo opportunities, brought to you by MySanta. There will also be a Kids' Corner with Storytime, crafts, playdough parties and more. For those seeking even more excitement, enjoy virtual reality & giant lawn games, facepainting and climbing wall competitions, perfect for a day out.

A Shopping & Foodie Wonderland:
Attendees can browse a curated selection of over 80 exhibitors, offering everything from gourmet treats to handcrafted gifts, delicious dishes, and delightful cocktails. As well as shopping there are pop-up eateries and cool beverages to enjoy alongside the entertainment.

Guests can indulge in authentic Mexican tacos from Tacoteca, buttery Cornish pasties from ‘Ansum Pasties, and ceviche with UCHU Peruvian Hot Sauce.
For those with a sweet tooth, Lalele Organic’s freshly made waffles with gelato, OMG! Decadent Donuts or sweet Hotteok Korean pancakes from Oh My Pancake are available all throughout the weekend. Dishes can be paired with a festive drink, such as an Espresso Martini or Cherry Gin Sour from Good Spirits, a Soju cocktail from Jinro NZ or a Blush Gin slushie.

This year's event will feature an even larger selection of brands and local artisanal producers showcasing everything from gourmet food to jewellery, skincare, beauty & wellness, homewares, games and more. Attendees will have the chance to shop from a range of local brands, including Opito Bay Salt, King Street Sauces, Otti & Olli, and the decadent Honest Chocolat. Explore this treasure trove of gourmet and handcrafted items while immersing yourself in the Christmas spirit in the heart of Auckland City. 

The venue, The Cloud, provides complete shelter from the elements and is easily accessible by bus, train, ferry, or car, located on Queens Wharf across from the Britomart transport station.
