The Philharmonia return with their popular New Zealand Herald Premier Series, this time featuring ‘Spanish Rhythms’ under conductor, Pablo Gonzalez and played by South Korean guitarist JIJI. The series will also include ‘Love Stories’ conducted by Antony Hermus, and feature some familiar works from Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture, among others.

From lush and irresistible concerts like ‘Romantic Brahms’ (Conducted by Elena Schwart and performed by pianist, Inon Barnatan) to the fiery and powerful ‘La Traviata’ opera performed by The New Zealand Opera Chorus, this spectacular programme caters for many tastes while also endeavouring to offer something new to Auckland audiences.

For film buffs, there is a particular treat in ‘Art of the Score: The Music of Hans Zimmer’. Conducted by Nicholas Buc and presented by popular podcasters of ‘Art of the Score’, Andrew Pogson & Dan Golding, this event dives into the incredible scores of our most prolific modern film composer. Performing firm favourites like themes from Interstellar, The Dark Knight Trilogy and the ever iconic Pirates of the Caribbean, this event with Auckland Philharmonia promises to be unforgettable.
